Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the laundry pickup and delivery services (“Services”) provided by Chore (“we,” “our,” “us”). By using our Services, you (“Customer,” “you”) agree to these Terms.
1. Services
We provide wash-and-fold laundry services only. We do not offer dry cleaning, pressing, alterations, or handling of specialty items. Service is available within designated areas of San Francisco and surrounding neighborhoods. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service for items we deem unsuitable or unsafe.
2. Customer Responsibilities
Preparation: Please ensure all items are suitable for machine washing and drying. Items requiring special care must not be included.
Inspection: Check all pockets and remove valuables or hazardous items (e.g., pens, lighters, batteries). We are not responsible for damage caused by items left in garments.
Weight: Orders are charged by actual laundry weight. Estimates may differ from final invoiced weight.
Unattended Pickup/Delivery: If you authorize unattended pickup or drop-off, you accept the risk of loss or theft.
3. Pricing & Payment
Current pricing is posted on our website. Rates are subject to change without notice. Payment is due at or before delivery. Promotions or discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
4. Pickup & Delivery
We will make reasonable efforts to meet scheduled pickup and delivery windows but cannot guarantee exact times. Missed pickups may incur a rescheduling fee. Failure to provide building access or entry instructions may result in cancellation or rescheduling.
5. Damages & Liability
We exercise reasonable care in cleaning and handling your laundry.
We are not responsible for normal wear and tear, color fading, shrinkage, or manufacturer defects.
Claims for missing or damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, with a detailed description of the item(s).
Our maximum liability is limited to the lesser of $40 per item or 10x the cleaning charge for that item, and no more than $200 per order.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., lost profits, sentimental value).
6. Disputes & Refunds
Any disputes regarding charges must be submitted within 3 days of delivery.
Refunds or credits are issued only when Services were not performed as agreed.
Cancellations made less than 12 hours before scheduled pickup may incur a fee.
7. Miscellaneous
Force Majeure: We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control (e.g., weather, traffic, natural disasters).
Privacy: Your contact and order information will only be used to provide Services and communicate with you.
Amendments: We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining Terms remain enforceable.
Governing Law: These Terms are governed by California law. Venue for disputes is San Francisco County.
